Gilbert lies roughly 22 to 24 miles southeast of Phoenix, about half an hour on US 60, and no campground or RV park inside the town could be verified.

The town grew quickly out of farmland and never acquired a public campground or a commercial RV resort that research could confirm. The nearest pitches sit northeast and east, in Mesa and Apache Junction.
Usery Mountain Regional Park: 3939 North Usery Pass Road in northeast Mesa, the nearest public campground with hookups. There are 73 pitches with water and electric and a published limit of RVs up to 45 feet, which covers everything here. Amperage is not published. Gates open 5am to 9pm from May to October and 6am to 8pm from November to April. Telephone 602 506 2930.
Lost Dutchman State Park: At Apache Junction beneath the Superstition Mountains, east of the town. 135 pitches and three group areas, 68 with water and 50, 30 and 20 amp electric, and the park states there are no size restrictions on RVs. Two vehicles per site, a 14 night limit in any 30 days, and generator hours of 8am to 10am and 5pm to 7pm. Book on 1 877 MY PARKS.
Campground USA RV Resort: 2851 South Tomahawk Road, Apache Junction. Described by the operator as an all ages RV park, with 129 full hookup pitches billed as big rig friendly. No maximum length is published, so ring 480 877 8880 with the length of the unit you have booked.
Confirm current availability, amperage and pitch length directly with each park before you travel.

Gilbert's best known attraction is a water treatment site that doubles as a birding reserve, which tells you something about the town. Note that Freestone Park is working through a phased renovation with closures running into 2027, so check which sections are open.

Since the pitch will be outside town, a Gilbert booking is usually decided on beds rather than on turning circles. The fleet covers Class C and Super C motorhomes, a Class A motorhome and a large bunkhouse travel trailer. Capacities run from five in the smallest Class C up to ten in the Super C, with eight in the travel trailer, and the whole range sits between 145 and 440 dollars a night. Units are sometimes listed below their standard rate, so it is worth asking when you check your dates. Availability depends on the individual RV and your travel dates, so start from the current listings. View available RVs or Contact the AZ RV Rentals team.
